Our client is a leading chemical company with a strong presence in Germany and across Europe. They are committed to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in the chemical industry. Their international team collaborates to deliver high-quality products and services to the clients worldwide. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced In-House Legal Counsel to join the dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of German and European commercial, corporate and trade law with its chemical regulations and thrive in an international work environment. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as offering strategic advice to various departments within the company.


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply and distribution contracts, ensuring alignment with legal requirements and company policies in collaboration with sales teams.
  • Identify potential legal risks related to the company's activities and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Exchange with other administrative department in legal matters like finance and insurance related matters.
  • Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external legal standards.
  • Manage and resolve legal disputes, liaising with external counsel when necessary, to protect the company's interests.
  • Monitor, interpret and advise on German and European chemical regulations, ensuring the company's operations remain compliant.
  • Point of contact for Authorities
  • Participating in internal Project and M&A
  • Providing training to staff on relevant legal topics, promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct with organization.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 3 years of legal experience, preferably within the chemical industry or a related sector in a mid seized company.
  • In-depth knowledge of German and European trade laws.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Admission to the bar in Germany
  • Basic knowledge of buisness administration.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Independant, structured and solution orientated working style with a "hands-on-mentality".
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Fluency in English and German; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in an international environment.
  • Strategic and entrepeunarial actions.
  • Willingness to participate in negotiations or business trips - even at short notice
