We're looking for an Insurance Legal Counsel to join Alan's Corporate Unit and help us reinvent health insurance through the lens of simplicity, transparency, and member-first innovation.
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape how regulatory excellence can become a competitive advantage in the health insurance space. At Alan, compliance and legal work is about finding innovative ways to say "yes" while ensuring the highest standards of insurance and regulatory excellence.
Here are some of the ways in which you would contribute:
Sales campaigns
Protect our competitive edge and improve our offering by defining Alan’s position on key contractual terms and keeping up-to-date on latest legal developments
Contribute directly to the success of our sales campaigns by taking part in strategic meetings with key prospects and clients
Partner with the Sales community to design and implement our regulatory obligations (duty of advice, transparency, conflicts of interest) directly into their tools and practices
Empower the team across Europe with practical regulatory guidance and autonomous decision frameworks
Insurance operations
Contribute to the quality and member-centricity of our insurance product & processes through expert contributions
Challenge market practices to find the best ways to meet regulatory requirements and transform complex insurance regulations (such as product oversight requirements, tax requirements, collective bargaining agreements) into simple, practical solutions
Strategically consult our regulators or challenge their approach with tact when needed
Protect Alan’s interests in the outsourcing of critical processes and manage relationships with key partners
Implement internal controls and reporting on key processes and support the team to mitigate operational risks
Compliance & regulatory excellence
Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative product initiatives with high regulatory stakes across our European markets, in insurance or other spaces (health, labor law, payments)
Drive the implementation of key compliance programs (anti-money laundering, Sapin II, etc.) with a distributed and tech-enabled approach
Develop strategies to influence regulatory evolutions and scrutiny, communicate with regulators and external auditors
Identify our main risks and report on our compliance obligations to Alan’s board
The Insurance Legal role requires specific expertise in key areas:
Preferably ~5 years of experience in insurance, compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal roles
Thorough understanding of insurance regulatory frameworks, including ACPR guidelines, insurance distribution rules, and legal regulations applicable to insurance contracts
Experience developing and deploying operational compliance programs
Fluent in English and French (written and spoken)

Experience at regulatory authorities (ACPR, EIOPA) would be a plus
