Description

We are seeking a highly motivatedย Junior Legal Counselย to support our global legal efforts across EMEA, APAC, and the Americas. This individual will play an essential role in our growing Legal team and will be based in our Amsterdam office.

Position Overview:
As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will report to the Legal & Compliance Manager and work on a wide range of commercial and corporate legal matters. You will assist in the creation and commercialization of data products -from conception to market launch-, review and negotiate commercial agreements, research and analyze a variety of legal information.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in tech companies and start ups with a keen interest in sustainability and ESG reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support across all regions, in commercial contracts, Intellectual Property matters and data protection regulations
  • Assist with the creation, commercialization, and licensing of data products
  • Review agreements related to the use and distribution of data, including data processing and data-sharing agreements
  • Support the business in navigating complex IT and cybersecurity regulations
  • Collaborate with our Product team to ensure the legal aspects of sustainability and ESG reporting are fully addressed in our products and services
  • Stay up to date with always changing regulatory framework affecting the business
  • Provide timely and effective legal advice on corporate governance and compliance matters as they arise

Requirements
  • Master of Laws/LLM from an accredited law school
  • Fluency in English with excellent writing skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial and corporate law, ideally with a background in start-ups, scale-ups, and/or technology companies
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough legal research
  • Proven experience in drafting and negotiating various types of international agreements
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainability and ESG reporting, with a genuine interest in supporting our mission of delivering transparent ESG data to the financial markets
