Legal Counsel - New Position - Private Bank

The Legal Counsel manages the Bank’s legal matters and ensures that effective legal advice, support and guidance is provided to the Bank in its day-to-day activities.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing legal advice and guidance for resolving the Bank’s day-to-day legal issues, by advising the Bank, its divisions and employees on matters of law and legal protection;
• Establishing legal documentation requirements in line with applicable laws and regulations;
• Drafting of documents and contracts with different partners and clients following both local and international laws and regulations;
• Liaising with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken;
• Handling of potential legal disputes/litigation;
• Preparing protocols, claims and counter-claims to regulators and/or courts;
• Assisting the Bank in judicial sittings and vindicating its rights and interests;
• Continuously monitoring (new) legal requirements and obligations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced Law Degree (Masters), LLM or EU Law Degree applicable in Luxembourg
• At least 5 years of experience at a law firm or a company within the financial sector
• Fluency in French and English
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Very strong organizational and interpersonal skills, trustworthy
