The Opportunity   

As an Associate / Senior Associate in the Office of General Counsel (OGC), you will play a key role in offering comprehensive legal solutions and advice to colleagues within the firm. You will also be responsible for maintaining the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations and minimising legal risks for the firm. 

Your Responsibilities   

• Conduct legal research and provide advice and support to various internal functions and teams within the firm on a broad range of legal issues, including economic sanctions, as required. 
• Draft, review, analyse, and negotiate various types of legal documents, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and other documents. 
• Address data protection matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. 
• Prepare and conduct internal training sessions for teams across all lines of service, enhancing legal and compliance awareness. 
• Identify and assess legal risks and provide recommendations and assistance in implementing suitable mitigation measures. 
• Collaborate with colleagues from the Office of General Counsel to develop and enhance policies and guidelines, ensuring the firm's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.  
• Provide any further assistance as may be required by the Office of General Counsel.  

What You Bring   

• University degree in Law (LLB Hons) 
• Completion of the Cyprus Bar exams is a requirement 
• A postgraduate degree in Law (LLM),  the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the Bar practice course (BPC), or other relevant professional qualification would be considered an advantage. 
• Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience at a law firm or as an internal legal adviser 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Greek and English 
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills  
• Highly motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with an ability to take initiative, solve problems and deliver results 
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a team 
• Confident, articulate and able to communicate in a clear and effective manner
