Legal Counsel

We are looking for a Legal Counsel who can join our Legal, Risk & Compliance team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity to support wide-ranging areas of work including supporting strategic and business-critical initiatives within the team. We would love to speak with you if you have experience when it comes to negotiating customer contracts & procurement law.

About you – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

• Qualified lawyer with Bar Exam
• 7+ years of experience working as a lawyer (2-3 years of in-house legal experience working in a global organization would be preferable)
• Proficient in English

It would be great if you also had…

• Experience in supporting management and resolution of day-to-day corporate and commercial issues and related legal risks
• Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various international commercial contracts and agreements, including customer and vendor agreements;
• Experience in public procurement procedures and data privacy matters
• Experience in liaising with senior members of staff
• Experience in supporting successful implementation of group level corporate project, including audits

What will you be doing in this role?

• Support the business as an integral part of the Legal team;
• Review and negotiate legal and commercial terms for international professional service agreements, master services agreements, license agreements, statements of work, partner agreements, vendor agreements, nondisclosure and privacy agreements; Coordinate with global product subject matter experts, including other members of the legal team, as relevant
• International RFP and public procurement procedures review and response; support the monitoring and management of legal email activity and legal-related inquiries
• Participate in the development of internal legal and contracts training, including conducting live training; collaborate with colleagues globally to provide day-to-day legal support and guidance
• Assist with tracking law updates and support relevant implementation action
• Work and coordinate with international external legal counsels where necessary

Clarivate’s Legal, Risk and Compliance Group is an integral part of the Company, and the team members support wide-ranging areas of work including supporting strategic and business-critical initiatives.

Reporting to Senior Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be based in Belgrade and will be a key member in Belgrade of a highly respected global Legal, Risk and Compliance Group, with team members located in the US, UK, EU and across APAC. In this role you will be responsible for supporting the legal function in a fast-paced atmosphere. You will be responsible for supporting global teams on all types of international legal, contractual and regulatory issues. You will also be a trusted advisor to various teams supporting strategic projects and developing risk mitigation strategies.

Hours of work

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone.

This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
