The role ✨

We are currently looking to hire a Legal Counsel on a fixed term contract ending mid February 2026, based in Poland. This position is offered in connection with the as maternity leave of one of our international legal team members.

As Legal Counsel, you will be in charge of commercial contracts and responsible for handling a broad range of legal matters across Stuart’s global markets related to commercial transactions, contracts and business operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide legal advice that aligns with the company’s objectives and risk thresholds. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Β 

You will join the Legal Team and will report to the General Counsel.

What will I be doing? πŸ€”

    • Contract drafting and negotiation - Draft, review, advise on and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including sales contracts, licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and vendor contracts across the UK, France and Poland. You will be required to engage external counsel and other experts on local laws as needed, managing costs appropriately.
    • Legal risk management - Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with commercial transactions and business operations. Provide proactive advice to internal stakeholders on risk management strategies.
    • Legal compliance - Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting commercial transactions and contracts. Ensure company compliance with relevant legal requirements.
    • Dispute Resolution - Assist in resolving commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation. Collaborate with external counsel when necessary.
    • Training and Education - Provide training to internal teams on legal issues related to commercial transactions. Keep stakeholders informed of legal developments shaping the business.

What do we need from you? 😎

    • You will be a legally qualified lawyer in Poland with strong academic credentials. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years post qualification experience (PQE).
    • You will have proven experience working within the tech sector / gig economy either in-house or in a law firm with a significant practice in contract negotiation. Knowledge of employment law, corporate law, and M&A experience is also a big plus.
    • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Polish. The ability to speak French is a plus.
    • You will be confident working independently and engaging with team mates remotely, as the only member of the legal team located in Poland.
