We are seeking a Head of Legal for a leading pharmaceutical company, offering a challenging opportunity to lead the legal department and oversee its operations, with a focus on international business and strategic legal advice in a dynamic industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in corporate, commercial, and contractual law within the pharmaceutical sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Legal department, including overseeing the lawyers and paralegals in the various areas of legal practice.
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial team and the Compliance department, providing legal support to ensure company activities adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of international contracts, including but not limited to collaboration agreements, business partnerships, and commercial arrangements.
  • Manage the legal aspects of corporate affairs, ensuring the company’s interests are protected in all business operations.
  • Act as the primary legal advisor to senior management, particularly in relation to international business strategies and contractual matters.
  • Oversee and ensure the implementation of internal procedures to maintain legal compliance, focusing on pharmaceutical regulations and industry-specific legislation.
  • Provide strategic and technical legal advice on business expansions, mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience: At least 10-15 years of professional experience in legal roles within the pharmaceutical industry or related sectors, with a strong background in corporate law, international contracts, and commercial agreements.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience leading a legal team in a corporate setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and manage cross-functional business relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, capable of interacting with senior stakeholders and managing external legal counsel.
  • Education: Law degree (Master’s or equivalent qualifications are a plus).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Corporate & Commercial Law Expertise: Strong knowledge of corporate law and commercial contracts, with particular focus on international agreements, joint ventures, and strategic collaborations.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Ability to manage a diverse team and collaborate cross-functionally within the organization.
  • International Business Knowledge: Experience in international business, managing contracts and legal operations across multiple jurisdictions.
