We’re looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team — someone curious, with a creative legal mind to come up with novel solutions for the demanding insurtech legal and compliance landscape. Legal Counsel will work with the General Counsel in ensuring Cachet has the most stable foundation to achieve its mission - expanding the possibilities of Europe's platform economy.

What You Will Do

This role focuses on handling insurance broker activity legal questions, supporting the production of legal documentation and the developing new system for internal insurance governance and monitoring.

Partner Agreements:

• Provide legal support for agreements and negotiations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.

General Legal Support:

• Provide everyday legal advice to various functions.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsels.

Broker Activity Compliance:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for broker activities across the EU.
• Implement strategies for broker activity compliance together with the General Counsel and the Head of Scaling.

Internal Governance:

• Monitor internal governance and activities based on such a governance system.
• Maintain and enhance internal control mechanisms and processes with audit trails in place.

Legal Hygiene and Structure:

• Develop and maintain legal policies and templates.
• Assure the maintenance of agreements.

Product and Data Compliance:

• Maintain legal and compliance standards for products and data in collaboration with the General Counsel.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

What We Are Looking For

• Trained in law with a degree from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 3 years legal experience in the financial sector (preferably in-house), background in insurance is a plus.
• Strong understanding of business processes and balance compliance with business goals.
• High sense of responsibility, diligence, and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, in both written and verbal contexts.
• Knowledge of internal control systems and mechanisms.
• Comfortable negotiating on behalf of the company with stakeholders.
• Background in general legal support for product and data compliance. 
• Located in the EU/EEA.
• Interest in legal and process design, especially contract design.
